The Bradford Academy is the latest addition to the concept of academies in United Kingdom. The concept has been created to enable private funding of schools in troubled areas. The newly built Bradford Academy received its first students in fall 2007.

DISE at Bradford Academy

A DISE DS system is used to provide up to date information to the students in different areas around the building. In the main forum a large three by three LCD screen wall have been installed that display various TV channels including a DISE Information. Students can borrow wireless headphones to tune in to any of the nine screens that are displayed.

In addition DISE is being used to handle display of information in corridors, reception areas and in the forum. A total of 15 DISE Replays provide 15 different messages that can be displayed throughout the building. All player computers are installed in a central server room thus enabling control over where different messages will be displayed. Distribution is done through CAT5 distribution of VGA. The content is a mix of text, images, hard disk based video as well as streaming video.

The system is sold and installed by UK reseller European Electronique Ltd. More information about the Bradford Academy can be viewed here.
