Tutorial - Rotate an object

All objects in Dise Composer can be rotated to a specific angle. Text objects, video objects, flash objects... This tutorial will show you two ways to set the angle of an object. By specifying the angle using a edit box or by using the free rotate tool.

Step 1 - Start the Dise Composer.

Step 2 - Create an object. Here I have created and selected an text object . The object is surrounded by a bounding box enabling you to freely change the size of the object.

Step 3 - To be able to freely change the angle of the object you double click on the selected object and the bounding box icons are changed to the rotation icons instead of the default sizing icons

Step 4 - To rotate the object press the left mouse button on any of the corners and drag the object to your preferred angle.

Step 5 - Another way of getting the same result is to selected the object. And to select Edit Angle from the Edit menu.

Step 6 - This will bring up the angle dialog box where you can specify a value for the object angle.

Step 7 - Any object can be rotated, even video objects which means tat you can create interesting scene layouts. At play back all your objects will be rendered in real time complete with dynamic texts and updated or altered objects.
